Normally I don’t pay much attention to fringe idiots, but I think this is worth bringing attention to because it’s a miniature version of the bigotry that has taken over the public as a whole. Cancel culture is the direct result of this bigoted, anti-intellectual “woke” culture that is incapable of rational thought and believes that shoving their agenda down everyone else’s throats is acceptable because the means justify the ends. The fact that these idiots are walking around college campuses shows just how toxic and anti-intellectual our culture has become, especially within college campuses.
In the following video, a philosopher moderated an impromptu public debate on the question of whether trans women should be allowed to compete in women’s sports.
Basically what happens is that the supporting sound gets angry and loses their minds, questioning the point of the debate, attacking the moderator and the opposing side accusing them of being transphobic, calling others bigots despite their own admitted narrow-mindedness, and even going as far as to resorting to personal attacks. The amount of hypocrisy displayed would be comical if it weren’t sad.
The typical playbook of the radical woke is to simply assert that their own views are correct and not up for debate, resorting to name calling and claiming that anyone who disagrees with them must be transphobic, misogynist, sexist, etc. Then they’ll start talking about systemic oppression and how you’re perpetuating it by not bowing down to their views. Of course the hypocrisy here is that they are themselves being bigots:
bigotry – “obstinate or unreasonable attachment to a belief, opinion, or faction; in particular, prejudice against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular group.“
Enough with this anti-intellectual, bigotted, “ends justify the means”, cancel culture, woke, bullshit.
People need to get some courage and stand up to this bigotry. Not using their playbook of throwing a tantrum like a child and looking like an idiot, but through calmly pointing out the hypocrisy like the moderator and the women on the opposing camp did. Bigotry will only lead to further radicalization and polarization. The only solution is to start embracing open-mindedness and debate, and valuing logic and reason above dogma.
I don’t know what kind of subjects those wokes are studying at university, but they need to be taught basic logic. Discrete math was an eye-opening course for me in university. I also really enjoyed the philosophy course on “Morality & Justice” (actually that was my favorite course in university, and I was a math major). Those students don’t know how to think rationally, which was supposed to be the whole point of university.
Again I generally stray away from this kind of content because it’s enraging and useless and I don’t want to give them even more attention (just like I don’t pay attention to the idiot on the street with a microphone yelling that everyone is going to hell). But when this anti-intellectual bigotry permeates into the public and leads to public “canceling” and shaming of people like Andrew Tate who are entitled to free speech, then it becomes pretty clear that we cannot continue to remain silent and allow this toxic culture of bigotry to take over.
